Once you decide to improve your smile, the rest is easy.
Step 1: Visit your experienced orthodontist or dentist
During this first step, you will need to make an appointment with an Invisalign® Certified Orthodontist or Dentist. During the initial visit, your orthodontist or dentist will help you decide on your course of treatment. Your doctor will take bite impressions of your teeth and will send these to Invisalign for processing.
Step 2: Invisalign® makes your aligners
Invisalign® uses advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to transform your bite impressions into a custom-made series of clear and removable aligners. On average, the number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30.
Step 3: You receive your aligners in a few weeks.
During your next visit to your orthodontist or dentist, you will receive your first set aligners. Your orthodontist or dentist will most likely give you a few additional sets for you to wear before you return for your next visit.
Step 4: You wear your aligners.
You'll wear each set of aligners day and night for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. A typical patient completes their treatment in about a year. You'll visit your orthodontist or dentist only about every month or two to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
Step 5: You've finished treatment!
Congratulations! When you're finished wearing each aligner in the series, your treatment will be complete and you will have the beautiful smile you've always wanted.

Invisalign® has both aesthetic and hygienic benefits.
Teeth that are crowded or are spaced too far apart may cause such problems as swollen gums, redness or pocketing. All of these are signs of periodontal disease. Invisalign straightens teeth, which can contribute to a healthier smile. Straighter teeth can lead to:
Healthier Gums
Clinical studies have shown that gum health may improve with the use of Invisalign during orthodontic treatment¹. Properly aligned teeth can help gums “fit” tighter around them², which may lead to better periodontal health. With Invisalign, you can brush and floss normally, which can help prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease.
Easier Cleanings
There are no brackets or wires to clean around as with traditional orthodontics. With maintenance of good oral hygiene, the chances of having plaque retention, tooth decay, and periodontal disease can be reduced.
Improved Chewing and Speech
In some instances, speech problems may result from poorly positioned teeth and jaws. Correction of your bite can help improve chewing and speech.
Decreased Risk of Trauma and Abnormal Wear
Properly aligned teeth can be less stressful on the supporting bone and jaw joints.
